Alumni Project Management Event

City University of Seattle alumni and students involved in the project management program gathered for a kick-off networking event and special presentation recently.

More than 30 people visited the Renton campus on April 24 to reconnect with former classmates and listen to guest speaker Gregg M. Hughes of CH2M Hill Transportation. The university Alumni and Development Office hosted the inaugural event to be held quarterly at various campuses.

Notable guests at the event included CityU of Seattle President Lee Gorsuch and Boardmember Steve Weidner. See below for pictures.

Hughes, a project delivery system instruction principal, discussed his involvement in the ongoing Panama Canal Expansion Program. His other past projects include the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and the Rocky Flats Nuclear Plant Closure. He also leads the Transportation Business Group in program management as Chief Engineer and Director and is a certified Project Management Institute trainer.

Hughes teaches project management students for the Keller School of Business at DeVry University. He regularly speaks as a guest professor at CityU of Seattle, Seattle University and the University of Washington.

A special thanks to alumni Brad Canady, Susan McDonald-Wright and Liz Stoddard for coordinating the inaugural event. CityU of Seattle Site Coordinator Fran MacVey, caterer Herban Feast and Maland Presentations also helped with arrangements.
