Building a Wind Farm – the Puget Sound Energy PM Approach

Listen to an experienced Project Manager with 20 years in the Energy Industry discuss the nuts and bolts of building out a wind farm. Topics discussed will include:

· The State Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS) and how PSE plans to meet these requirements.

· The PSE approach to Project Management

· Meeting the demands of construction sequencing

· Setting up a production line at the site

· Contract structures

· Transport logistics and problems

· U/G cable trenching

· Addressing the differences between sites

· Integrating a Solar project

· And more

Finally, our presenter will discuss the importance of keeping all vital activities moving forward in parallel and future PSE wind developments in the Pacific NW.

Our presenter:

Brian Doughty, Manager, Project Management - Puget Sound Energy

Brian Doughty brings thirty-five years of professional experience in managerial and engineering positions within a wide range of projects both in the power and construction industries. He has managed projects for Combined Cycle Power Plants, Cogeneration, Bulk Fuel Storage, Water Treatment Plants, Airfield & Marine Facilities, Water Towers, Reservoir Repair, Experimental Rail Track, Highway & Bridge Design, Pipelines, Transmission Lines, and Substations, along with his current leadership in Wind Farm Construction. Brian also has considerable international experience stemming from his work in the Saudi Arabia, U.A.E, Bahrain, U.K., Iran, Germany, and Brazil. Prior to joining Puget Sound Energy in 2003 he managed projects for Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contractors.
