City U's SIFE Team Overall League Champs, Advance to Nationals May 21st in Missouri

On April 4, 2006, City University’s SIFE team competed in the regional Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) competition held in Seattle.  City University SIFE was the overall league champion and won 1 st place in five of six SIFE categories earning $4,000 in prize money.  In 24 minutes, the team presented projects completed throughout the year in Bulgaria, India, Mexico, and Washington State. The team finished ahead of former champion Washington State University and other strong teams from Montana State University and Eastern Oregon University.   The team will now advance to the national competition in Kansas City, Missouri on May 21st.

1st place - Aflac SIFE USA Market Economics Competition
Criteria:  How effectively did the SIFE team measure and demonstrate that it created economic opportunity by helping others learn how to succeed as an entrepreneur and/or improve an existing business?

 

1st place - Discover Financial Services SIFE USA Success Skills Competition
Criteria: How effectively did the SIFE team measure and demonstrate that it created economic opportunity by helping others acquire the education and skills training needed to succeed in a dynamic, competitive global economy?

 

1st place - SAM’S CLUB SIFE USA Entrepreneurship Competition
Criteria: How effectively did the SIFE team measure and demonstrate that it created economic opportunity by helping others learn how to succeed as an entrepreneur and/or improve an existing business?

 

1st place - HSBC SIFE USA Financial Literacy Competition
Criteria: How effectively did the SIFE team measure and demonstrate that it created economic opportunity by helping others develop the personal financial management skills necessary to achieve financial independence?

 

1st place - SIFE USA Program Sustainability Competition
Criteria: How successfully did the team develop and execute a strategy to ensure the long-term sustainability of their team and educational programs?
