Today, father Jeffrey has change careers and started a clinic dedicated to providing knowledgeable and affordable service to autistic children and their parents. From CityU’s Alumni Director

Why am I too busy to take a time management class? Perhaps you’ve been asking yourself that lately too.

The sad truth is, I used to teach a time management course. If only I could take my own advice more often!

If you’re rushing into the fall season with “back to school” and “only 74 days until Christmas” reminders, take a deep breath.  Begin by prioritizing and ask yourself, “What’s important to me?  Am I spending the necessary time on those important items?  What’s preventing me from doing so? How can I eliminate some of those distractions?”

I understand the answers are not always easily found, but you owe it to yourself to slow down and assess the value of your daily efforts. Chances are you might find that you are not spending enough time on the things you truly value in life. This discovery may even lead to some big decisions like changing jobs, going back to school for another degree, or even moving to another part of the country (or world!).  It exciting just to think about all of the possibilities.

If such personal reflection gets you thinking about making a move yourself, kick back and read our feature “Going Global” about City University of Seattle’s unique global position. We’re very proud of our international reach in education and the impact it has on our global economy.  I think you will be too.

So consider this a gentle nudge from your friends here at CityU of Seattle to find focus based on what’s most important to you. I promise I will do the same.

All the best,

Eileen Ryan-Rojas
Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
